We are South Vancouver Island's largest Minor Fastball club providing our youth athletes a positive and rewarding environment for Fastpitch competition, development and fun.
Our divisions range from Learn to Play (U6-U8) to U19 in levels from beginners to competitive B. Our goal is to support our youth with pride and lead with faith in their ability to grow as young adults through our great sport.
We are the home of Langford Lightning and we welcome you to become part of our great Association.
Each Team will play 2 games throughout the day; have a hotdog lunch provided for the kids and coaches, a Fun Zone, a Super Skills Challenge, followed by a Base Race Tournament. Please see the LTP page for the day’s Schedule.
Joining us at the park will be our very own Woman’s Senior Team, The Langford Diamond Fusion. This is their first year with our association and they really want to give back, starting with the roots of our league….the Learn to Play Teams!!! They will be running the Skills Challenge, Painting the faces, and cooking the food.
We will be concluding the day with closing Ceremonies for all of the teams. We will then jump right into a Fast paced game between our Langford Lightning U19C Team vs. The very same Diamond Fusion Team.
Please plan to be here for the day. You won’t regret the experience and support local Fastball in our great city of Langford.
We are sending this note out to make all members aware of a recent series of vandalisms at our park. The porta potty near the tennis courts has been vandalized twice in the past two weeks, with the first resulting in a $200 charge to the Association for cleaning, and the second (fire damage) resulting in an as-yet unknown charge to the Association as well. As a result, we will be asking Coast to remove the porta potties from both the area near the tennis courts and outside of Spencer school. We simply don’t have the resources to keep paying charges for damage caused by vandals.
There have also been at least three instances of vandals trying to set the actual washrooms near the concession on fire. Burnt toilet paper was found in them a week or so ago, again during the tournament this past weekend on Saturday morning, and then Sunday evening after the conclusion of our U12 tourney, a fire was set in the men’s washroom that was significant enough to require fire department response and closure of the washrooms, and to result in a smoky smell in the concession storage room. For now, the washrooms are closed and the City has set up two porta potties outside of them, and we don’t know at this stage what the City’s longer term plans might be with respect to the washrooms.
Much of the vandalism described above has occurred during daylight or evening hours, so we ask that any members who are at the park or who drive by this area keep a lookout for suspicious activity. Should anyone observe people attempting to cause damage at the park, call 911 to report it.
